SKZ Certified Training Courses for HDPE Pipe Welders

Installation & Welding of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipes for Gas and Water applications as per the standards of the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas & Water (DVGW)

SKZ BASIC training “Certified HDPE Pipe Welder GW330” (5-days)

The 5-days basic training course ends with an examination, where theoretical as well as practical skills have to be demonstrated. A certificate and a Welder License (valid for one year), will confirm the successful participation in the course and the positive completion of the final examination.

SKZ ADVANCED training “Certified HDPE Pipe Welding Supervisor GW331” (5-days)

This 5-days training course enables the participants after successful examination to supervise welders and to recognize and avoid accruing faults. Welding supervisors are responsible for the quality and reliability of plastic pipeline components. To assure the enduring validity of this qualification regular participation at the extended examination is necessary. (Basic course GW330 is required)

SKZ EXTENDED examination GW330/GW331 (Re-fresher courses 1-day)

Due to the permanent developments in technology, new materials and emerging requirements, it is essential to re-fresh and to extend skills and knowledge acquired in the courses GW330 and GW331. This is possible through the annual re-examination. After successful examination the Welder License will be extended for another year.

Please note that the yearly re-examination is required according to the ADWEA specification “Standard specification for water works - Specification for construction, testing & commissioning of high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe system” ADWEA document W-P-SS-017 rev-1 dated 27-04-2008.

What will you leave with

• Understand the principles of HDPE materials in terms of implementation and accurate installation procedures, their scope of application, and quality control according to the German DVGW & DVS Standards.
• Have more confidence when supervising or installing HDPE Gas & Water pipelines.
• Know the various methods of pipe welding techniques and installation procedures. (Including welding machines and tools)
• Being able to check and perform repairs on installed lines in accordance with approved QA/QC

Certificate & Welder-License

Certificate & Welder-License from the educational establishment SKZ Germany will be issued to participants, who fully attend the training program and pass the written & practical examinations. Methodology Lecture, case studies, presentations, experience sharing and hands-on workshops.
